This festive season, we’re celebrating the spirit of giving by encouraging our shoppers to help us support St. Thomas Home for Children, a registered child and youth care centre. Devoted to the residential care and personal development of abandoned, orphaned and vulnerable children in eThekwini and surrounds, St. Thomas provides invaluable physical, emotional and intellectual care and support for at-risk children and kids with disabilities.

Since 1959, the home has provided secure 24-hour care for the kids in their care, with healthy meals, early childhood development, life skills, recreation and so much more. Where possible, they also aim to reunite the children with their families.

To make these vital programmes happen – and to keep them going – St. Thomas is always striving to fulfil the basic daily needs of their children. This festive season, they are asking the public for some much-needed supplies, with a special focus on towels.

To assist them in their efforts to get their hands on these essentials, Springfield Retail Centre will be hosting a charity drive this festive season. We’re asking all our shoppers to give generously to help the St. Thomas kids have the happy festive season they deserve.

While securing at least 60 towels is a key goal of this campaign, St. Thomas Home for Children has provided us with a full wishlist of items to guide our shoppers as to what to donate. You are also more than welcome to donate items for the kids that are not on the list – all donations will be much appreciated.

Check out the full wishlist below and drop your donations off at  Springfield Retail Centre on the 21^st and 23^rd of December between 10am and 2pm outside Tile Africa.
